No accepted therapeutic use. Included for pharmacognostic and toxicological reference only. A frequent agent of self-poisoning in South Asia.
Reported adverse effects
Bradycardia, sinoatrial nodal arrest, junctional escape rhythm, AV block, ventricular arrhythmia, asystole, death. GI symptoms, dizziness, weakness. Digoxin-specific Fab fragments have been used successfully.
